Earth Rising, Constant Movement (self-released)

I know nothing about Earth Rising besides what I’ve just learned by listening to the local quintet’s sophomore release, Constant Movement. What you’ll get here is Rachel Delgado’s weirdly calming, Portishead-ish, ’90s alt-vocals, stirred into a rhythm section that does anything from psychedelic to country to Latin to drum ’n’ bass-rooted percussion, all to a degree of intensely flexible comfort, more jammy than closely regimented, and just the right amount of cutesy. If you’re already a fan of Earth Rising and a big fan of its 2011 self-titled release, you’ll dig the new stuff, too. (www.earthrising.com)
