Say what you want about the government and taxes Every so often, they actually do something cool that all of us can enjoy. Can’t think of anything? Well, then, let us offer this Saturday’s Sunset Park’d Food Truck Festival, courtesy of Clark County. From noon to 10 p.m., Sunset Park will be hosting over two dozen mostly local food trucks, along with a classic car show and eight live performers including Crash Kings, Paper Tigers and The Remedies.
“We just did a $12 million renovation to the park,” says Clark County Parks and Recreation Special Events Supervisor Brian Saliba. “So we wanted to do any kind of programming that would shine a light on that.”
Confirmed trucks include local favorites like Ben’s BBQ, Lobsta Trap, Sausagefest, Wa Da Pho and Sin City Dogs and at least 20 others. For the grown-ups, Rock N Roll Wine will also be doing $2 to $4 tastings of a variety of vino.
Saliba’s department was aware of local truck meets like Foodie Fest, Vegas StrEATs and First Fridays, but notes “One thing all those other events is missing is grass.” As in, a big lawn—and a pond. Also, Sunset Park’d is completely family-friendly, and completely free admission (even the trucks got in free).
If the fest works, they plan to do it again next year.
Why not do it again next month? CL
