Where to watch the Super Bowl?

Is there anything more obnoxious than watching the Super Bowl at a sports book? Will PT’s be too crowded for you? Here are some alternatives for watching Sunday’s pigskin-and-commercials spectacular.

Crab Corner (4161 S. Eastern Ave., 489-4646): The place looked like a party when we drove past it during the Ravens-Patriots game. A must-visit for Baltimore loyalists, and $85 gets you all you can eat and drink — but you must reserve your spot in advance.

Timber’s (7045 N. Durango Drive, 436-0674): Yes, it’s a chain tavern and it will be packed, but expect the place to bleed a deep 49er red, a favorite spot for Bay Area sports fans. From 2-8 p.m., patrons can enjoy Budweiser and food specials.

The Garage (1487 E. Flamingo Road, 440-6333): We’ve enjoyed taking in some games at this de facto gay sports bar. Every TV will be airing the Bowl on Sunday, with an outstanding 2-for-1 drink deal from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and free appetizers.

Sapphire (3025 Industrial Road, 869-0003): Need a cheerleader to help you root your team on? The topless Sapphire girls will be on hand to keep patrons company — especially during halftime, when dances are only a buck. That’s two boobies for one dollar.
