While it’s tempting to think of book-banning as a quaint problem from another era, now encountered primarily in old Ray Bradbury or George Orwell novels, the truth is grimmer: It’s still going on. (Just Google “banned books Tucson.”) Banned Books Week calls attention to the problem nationally, and this reading and panel discussion brings it to the local level. Moderated by R-J political columnist (and former CityLife editor) Steve Sebelius, it features speakers from the Electronic Frontiers Foundation, the Boyd School of Law, the ACLU and the underground library movement. 7-9 p.m., Clark County Library, 1401 E.
