Popped, Locked and Loaded

[ART] Saturday, Sept. 8

This exhibit deals unabashedly with popular culture, whether it’s Dillon Boy’s appropriation of specific comic book or film images, or Juan Muniz’s signature figure, which evokes a generalized cartoony cuteness. If the pieces these two collabo’d on are a long way from Warhol’s soup cans, the basic pop-art dynamic is still the same: bringing into the gallery the kinds of low-culture imagery previously shut out. Also, there will be tequila. 7:30 p.m.; Amanda Harris Gallery of Contemporary Art, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. South (in the Soho Lofts),
