[MUSIC] Thursday, Aug. 23
Supreme Cuts, Poliça
The headliner is Poliça, a Minneapolis-based act whose indie rock paella is dominated by chunks of electronic and R&B. However, the more interesting band on the Boulevard Pool bill tonight is Chicago-based opener Supreme Cuts, which tightly braids the synths and soul with a deeper infusion of emotion. Its atmospheric take on ambient bass music and downtempo prog almost sounds like a collaboration between Brian Eno and British dubstep act Burial, and ought to make for the most transportive, sublime experience you’ve ever had on Las Vegas Boulevard. 9 p.m.; The Cosmopolitan, 3708 Las Vegas Blvd. South, 698-7000, $20.
