Take the painting “Playmate (blonde).” A hot-bodied model affects a sassy pose. Her face, though, is a fleshy, round, smiley face. Is she sunnily — but dimly, if you get our drift — complicit in her objectification? Is she uncomplicatedly confident in in her ability to attract attention? Let the hide-and-seek of ideas begin!
