The Vegas alt theatre doing what looks like one of the most classic Shakespeare pieces in history. We know how it sounds: madness. But there’s method in it. With director Troy Heard calling it a “lo-fi slicing to the bone,” we’re supposed to expect the gritty ghost story version: murder, revenge, trying to figure out whether or not to be. Skipping the scenery for more focus on dialogue, Onyx Theatre’s Hamlet is meant to show what Shakespeare really was: a gloomy sunuvabitch. 8 p.m.; Onyx Theatre, 953-16B E. Sahara Ave., 732-7225, $15
