[SPORT] WEDNESDAY, JULY 3
Latinos take their sports rivalries seriously, and among those rivalries, none is more serious than El Super Clasico — the matchups between Mexico’s two most powerful “football” (soccer, to the untutored) teams. Club America, based in Mexico City, and Club Deportivo Guadalajara, aka Chivas, from the state of Jalisco, have battled for national supremacy more than 200 times going back to the 1950s. America leads in wins by three games. Nonbelievers may want to avoid wearing either a yellow-blue combo (Chivas) or red-white-and-blue outfit (America) on the day of the contest. 8 p.m.; Sam Boyd Stadium, 739-3267, $38-$128.
