Labor demands fair pay for fast-food workers

But what about the burgers?
But what about the burgers?

Fast food workers and labor sympathizers demonstrated outside three Las Vegas-area fast food joints Thursday, Aug. 29, demanding a "living wage" of $15 an hour. Many industry workers make the Nevada minimum wage of just over $8 an hour.

Minimum wage is $7.25 an hour if the Nevada employer offers health insurance.

Two area McDonald's and a KFC franchise on Maryland Parkway, pictured, were targeted in the protests. In front of the KFC, the protestors chanted "No justice! No chicken!"

The Las Vegas protests were mirrored by similar protests in many cities nationwide.
