Governing the city is fine and all, but let's eat

The Las Vegas City Council is starving.
Although there are certainly nearby culinary destinations, council members saluted plans to put a restaurant right across from the new City Hall, on the ground floor of the parking garage at 500 S. Main St.
The company, to do business as the Made To Order Cafe, will pay about $53,000 a year in rent to the city and have tables for 60 customers. Delivery will be available for city employees across the street, the restaurateurs promised the council.
Mayor Carolyn Goodman jokingly urged the business to move as quickly as possible — the meeting had dragged past the lunch hour — but Councilman Bob Coffin took the opportunity to note that not everyone wants a completely healthy menu.
"Let's have bacon and eggs," he said.
The restaurant should open by the end of 2013.
