Megabus is megacheap ... and it's megaback.

The low-cost, high-value carrier has reintroduced regional service after a four-year hiatus, and is now offering trips from Las Vegas to Riverside, Calif., and Los Angeles for $1. Yes, a dollar. The buses offer onboard wi-fi and power outlets, and a one-way trip to L.A. takes five and a half hours on average.

The company is officially offering $1 promotional fares Dec. 12-19 to celebrate its comeback, but a fare search shows prices at $1 throughout December and into January (it's not possible to book beyond that). Regular fares start at $1 and the price increases as the departure date draws nearer. The bus departs from the RTC South Strip Transfer Terminal near Sunset and Gillespie, and drops riders off at the Riverside Metro Station or Union Station/Patsouras Transit Plaza in L.A., where it's possible to catch buses and trains to other cities.

 They had us at $1.
