True To You webzine reports today that English singer Morrissey has postponed his entire U.S. tour due an illness in his family. This includes his Nov. 23 show at the Chelsea Ballroom inside The Cosmopolitan.
The report stresses ticketholders to hang on to their tickets, as the tour will be rescheduled. Here's the release:
"All remaining dates on the current US Tour have been postponed - but not cancelled - as Morrissey has returned to England where his mother has been hospitalized and is unwell. Due to issues with his mother's health, Morrissey will need to remain by her side during this difficult period. Those who have already purchased tickets for all upcoming dates are highly encouraged to hold on to their tickets and look out for the rescheduled dates. The new dates will be announced shortly. Morrissey would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as the shows are being prepared for a swift reschedule."
UPDATE: The Cosmopolitan has released the following: "For questions regarding tickets purchased for Morrissey’s November 23 show at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, please contact the box office at 702 698-7778. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience."
On Oct. 7, 1999, Morrissey canceled a House of Blues show minutes before he was to perform due to an injured bandmate. He later made up the date.
