Life is Beautiful, the downtown Vegas music festival announced last November, just revealed its inaugural dates will be Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27 of this year. The performer details will reportedly be released at the end of April.
The event plans to go beyond music. It will include the culture cornucopia, with an art element showcasing local and international artists, a veritable Olympic village of 60 international chefs and booze wizards, and talks and seminars a la SXSW's model with speakers talking tech, music, entrepreneurship, et al.
From the fun-facts department: That last weekend in October is when Vegoose was traditionally held before its ending its three-year run in 2007. Vegoose was promoted by SuperFly, the co-producer of Outside Lands, which is also produced by Life Is Beautiful co-producer Another Planet Entertainment. The fall edition of Neon Reverb, the 2008-established downtown music festival, usually falls in September. Organizers have previously said it is considering working in conjunction with Life is Beautiful instead of producing its typical multi-day event this autumn.
