As part of its continuing scorched-earth mission to sign every EDM superstar DJ to its roster, the Wynn nightlife empire -- which includes XS, Encore Beach Club, Surrender and Tryst -- revealed today its 40-plus lineup of residents.
The full list is below. Most of the names remain the same (Diplo, Skrillex, Porter Robinson, et al); some were unofficial residents in 2012 and are now legit Wynners (which means more opportunities to catch former travelphobe Eric Prydz); a few are total newbies (welcome, Bassnectar); and others are notably pilfered from competitors -- namely, Above & Beyond, Dirty South, Martin Solveig and that one LMFAO dude, all former Marquee regulars. Curiously, XS and Marquee will continue to have joint custody of Avicii. (Marquee reps didn't have a current resident roster as of press time, though Kaskade, Benny Benassi and Chuckie were confirmed as staying on, and the nightclub's website still boasts heavies like Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Hardwell.)
Curiouser yet: Many names have dropped off the Wynn brag-sheet, including Tiesto, Dada Life, Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki and perhaps the biggest spinster of them all, Deadmau5. Apparently, Wynn can't have everyone. Rumors abound that some of them will be going elsewhere on the Strip. Which means one will be able to get their Dutch trance, electro-pop and dubstep-lite on at more than the same handful of places.
And, naturally, most of them will be in town during Electric Daisy Carnival week (June 18-25), playing the festival and/or the ancillary parties at the clubs and pools.
Speaking of EDC, remember, kids: Tickets go on sale this Wednesday at noon. Three-day passes are nearly $300; the VIP equivalent will run you $500 -- which is still cheaper than bottle service for one night at any of the aforementioned clubs. The festival sold out in 2012.
